Lagos Life PC Controls and Keyboard Shortcuts

Lagos Life is designed for phones first, but it plays very well on a laptop. The game has a full set of keyboard shortcuts; press ? in game to see them any time. Here they all are:

Moving around the game

• M opens the map. Tap a place, choose how to travel (trek, keke, danfo, okada, cab or your own car) and go.
• H takes you home, or heads home if you are at a venue.
• P opens the phone with all the apps: Jobs, Bank, Invest, Chowdeck, Rides, Courses, Hustle, Forbes and the rest.
• S shows your Sim's needs and skills.

At a venue

• T lists the things to do at the current place.
• 1–9 jumps to a spot (a station like the bar or the stage).
• E shows the people at the venue, which is how you start chatting or send money to someone you just met.

In your home (Buy mode)

• B toggles Buy mode, and C opens the catalogue.
• Arrow keys move the selected item one tile; R rotates it.
• Enter places or confirms.
• Del sells the selected item (you get back about 60% of its price, so be careful).
• Esc cancels.

You can also rotate the camera around your home with the on-screen rotate control and click directly on objects to use them: the bed to sleep, the cooler to snack, the bucket to bath.

Smoother play on a laptop

• Use Chrome or Edge with hardware acceleration on. The home and venue scenes are 3D.
• Close other heavy tabs. During launch week a lot of "lag" was simply server load, but a busy laptop makes it worse.
• If something freezes, the game shows a "Lagos hit a small go-slow" screen with a reload button. Your progress is saved on the server.
• Install it as an app from the browser address bar to get a cleaner window without tabs.

On a phone

The bottom bar (Home, Buy, Map, Phone) does everything the shortcuts do. Use "Add to Home Screen" so it opens full screen like an app.
