Question 1

What is the Lagos Life game?

Accepted Answer

Lagos Life is a free, Sims-style life simulation set in Lagos, Nigeria, played in your web browser. You create a Sim, rent a room, get a job, ride danfo and keke, furnish your home and meet thousands of real players at places like Amala Shitta, Quilox and Elegushi Beach. Abuja and Port Harcourt have since been added as extra cities.

Question 2

Is Lagos Life free to play?

Accepted Answer

Yes. Signing up and playing cost nothing. There is an optional top-up that swaps real naira for game naira, but every career, gig and business in the game can be reached without paying. Players reported different top-up rates during launch week, so check the in-game Bank before you buy anything.

Question 3

Do I need to download Lagos Life or install an APK?

Accepted Answer

No. The game runs at lagoslife.app in Chrome, Safari or any modern browser. On a phone you can use “Add to Home Screen” so it opens like an app. There is no official APK or Play Store listing, so treat any APK download link as suspicious.

Question 4

Can I play Lagos Life on my phone?

Accepted Answer

Yes, the game was built phone-first: the bottom bar gives you Home, Buy, Map and Phone. On a laptop you get keyboard shortcuts too (M for map, P for phone, B for buy mode). See the PC controls guide.

Question 5

How old do you have to be to play Lagos Life?

Accepted Answer

You must be 18 or older. Sign-up asks you to confirm your age, and anyone who says they are under 18 gets blocked from creating an account for a while.

Question 6

Is Lagos Life multiplayer? Are the other players real?

Accepted Answer

Yes. The people you see at venues are mostly real players, and you can gist, crack jokes, send money, hire each other and join groups. Some background characters at venues are NPCs (the DJ, staff, crowd), but the people chatting you up are humans. Launch-week counters showed over 100,000 players online at once.

Question 7

Who made Lagos Life?

Accepted Answer

Lagos Life was built by Nigerian software developer Shalom Rayhamen (also reported as Shalom Mathew). It went live on 1 October 2026 and passed one million players within about three days, then two million soon after, according to interviews she gave to Nigerian tech media.

Question 8

Is this the official Lagos Life website?

Accepted Answer

No. This is an independent Lagos Life game wiki written by players. The only official place to play is lagoslife.app. We never ask for your password and we do not sell game money.

Question 9

Is Lagos Life the same as The Sims, Roblox or “Lagos Life Sims”?

Accepted Answer

“Lagos Life Sims” is just how many people search for the same game. Lagos Life is not a Sims mod and has nothing to do with Roblox. It borrows the Sims idea of needs bars and buy mode, but it is its own browser game with its own map, jobs and economy. It is also different from Lagos Run, another viral Nigerian browser game where you drive a danfo.

Question 10

Which cities can you visit in Lagos Life?

Accepted Answer

Lagos is the main city. Abuja and Port Harcourt are full cities too, each with their own homes, jobs, markets and nightlife. You get there by flight from Murtala Muhammed Airport, by night bus from Jibowu Motor Park, or by private jet if you own one. See the travel system.

Question 11

How do you make money in Lagos Life?

Accepted Answer

Five ways: work shifts at your job, do side gigs (Help at the Buka, Carry Load at Balogun, freelance on a laptop, Instagram shop), buy businesses that pay every day, buy land that grows in value every week, and rent out property. Crime also pays sometimes, but the catch rates are high. Full breakdown in how to make money.

Question 12

What is the fastest way to make money in Lagos Life?

Accepted Answer

For a new account: get Coding to 5 and Charisma to 3, then go to CcHub and Pitch Your Startup on the event stage. Players regularly report cheques of around ₦100,000 and occasionally close to ₦1,000,000 from one pitch. Until you get there, mix your job shifts with Help at the Buka (₦1,750) and Carry Load at Balogun (₦2,250).

Question 13

Can I withdraw Lagos Life money or turn it into real naira?

Accepted Answer

No. Game naira stays inside the game. You cannot cash it out to your bank account, and selling game money for real money breaks the game’s terms. People on WhatsApp offering to buy or sell “coins” are outside the game and you have no protection if they disappear with your transfer.

Question 14

Can I send money to other players?

Accepted Answer

Yes, from the Bank app on your phone, from ₦100 up to ₦10 billion per transfer. Big transfers are one of the things that put the EFCC on your case, so do not move huge sums around for no reason.

Question 15

What is the best job for beginners in Lagos Life?

Accepted Answer

Banking at Marina Towers. It pays ₦11,600 a shift at entry level, which is the highest of any career with no skill requirement, and runs Monday to Friday from 8am. If you can first get Fitness to 3, Medicine starts at ₦21,000 instead. Compare all of them in the careers database.

Question 16

When is rent due in Lagos Life?

Accepted Answer

Rent is weekly: the in-game week closes on Saturday and rent (plus any staff wages) comes out of your balance. If your balance cannot cover it, the shortfall piles up as “rent owed”, which you clear from the Home app with the Pay button. A face-me-I-face-you room in Mushin is ₦2,400 a week; the Banana Island mansion is ₦1,500,000. Keep at least two weeks of rent in the bank so a bad week does not leave you in debt.

Question 17

Do businesses pay every day? Do I earn when I’m offline?

Accepted Answer

Yes. Each business you own pays once a day in the evening, and the game catches you up for days you were away. Every business also has a “bad day” chance (8–10%) where it loses money instead. For example the Recharge & Data Kiosk averages about ₦1,555 profit a day after costs and bad days.

Question 18

Which business pays back fastest in Lagos Life?

Accepted Answer

On paper the Recharge & Data Kiosk pays for itself in about 97 days. Most of the cheap ones sit between 60 and 90 days, while the big ones (Event Centre, Quilox share) take longer but throw off far more cash per day. Run your own numbers in the business ROI calculator.

Question 19

Should I buy land or a business first?

Accepted Answer

Business first. A business gives you cash every day that you can reuse; land only pays when you sell. Land grows between 1.88% and 5% a week, but selling costs 5% and some areas carry omo-onile (land grabber) trouble. Land is where you park spare money once your income is steady.

Question 20

Is there tax in Lagos Life?

Accepted Answer

Yes, weekly income tax. The first ₦1,000,000 you earn each week is tax-free. After that it is 20% up to ₦10M, 30% up to ₦50M and 35% above. Most new players never pay a kobo; it bites once businesses start pouring money in. Try the income tax calculator.

Question 21

How can I make money in Lagos Life without investing?

Accepted Answer

Stack free activities: your job, Report a Crime at the police station (₦2,000), Help at the Buka at Amala Shitta, Carry Load at Balogun Market, and the WhatsApp Hustle on your phone. Once your skills grow, Comedy Night at Freedom Park and Paid Beach Photoshoots at Elegushi pay well and cost nothing to start.

Question 22

Can I choose to be a Nepo Baby?

Accepted Answer

Not directly. After you pick your traits and big dream, the game flips a “lottery” that makes you either a Nepo Baby (Lekki flat, a car, a Branch Manager job and ₦500,000) or a LAPO Baby (a ₦60,000 loan and faster skill growth). If you want to skip the loan, pick the UNILAG student start. See Nepo vs LAPO.

Question 23

What should I do first in Lagos Life?

Accepted Answer

Keep your needs bars green (eat from the cooler, bath with the bucket, sleep), open Phone → Jobs and take a job, then buy a toilet and a cooking stove before anything decorative. The in-game helper says the same: needs, job, work. Our beginner’s guide walks through the first seven days.

Question 24

What is the fastest way to level up a skill?

Accepted Answer

Pick the activity with the highest skill rate. For coding, the Weekend Hackathon at CcHub trains at ×2.0 and Hack on Side Project at ×1.6. Traits multiply this (Tech Bro ×1.6 for coding), LAPO Babies learn 25% faster, and the Fast Learner perk adds 20%. Skills fade if you ignore them for a week. Every skill’s best trainers are listed in the skills database.

Question 25

How do promotions work?

Accepted Answer

Fill your performance bar to 100 by working shifts and saying yes to tasks your Oga gives you. Each rank has three grades; to jump to the next rank you also need your career skill at 1, 3, 5 and 7, a minimum Lagos Rep level from the third rank up, and some days served. The last step is a board interview. Details in careers and promotions.

Question 26

What is Lagos Rep and what are the badge titles?

Accepted Answer

Lagos Rep is your account level. You earn XP from daily streaks, work and big moments, and titles unlock along the way: JJC (Lv 1), Correct Person (Lv 3), Area Pikin (Lv 5), Street Sharp (Lv 8), Hustler (Lv 12), Odogwu (Lv 16), Big Shot (Lv 20), Chairman (Lv 25), Oga at the Top (Lv 30), Eko Legend (Lv 40), Lagos Royalty (Lv 50). Rep also gates the higher rungs of every career. Full ladder on Lagos Rep levels.

Question 27

Should I start as a UNILAG student?

Accepted Answer

It is a good pick if you want a slower, safer start. You get a hostel bunk for ₦1,200 a week, a ₦3,000 Monday allowance and no LAPO loan. When you graduate, your degree class adds pay to every shift: First Class gives +20%. See the UNILAG student guide.

Question 28

When should I move house?

Accepted Answer

Move when one week’s rent of the new place is less than a day of your income. A bigger home gives you more floor space and more guest slots, but the rent jump from Yaba (₦6,000) to Lekki (₦17,000) to Ikoyi (₦250,000) is steep. Compare every home in the homes database.

Question 29

Should I buy furniture early?

Accepted Answer

Buy the useful pieces early and skip decor. A toilet, a stove, a bed upgrade and an ₦18,000 laptop pay for themselves; the laptop alone unlocks Freelance Gigs and the Instagram shop. Furniture sells back for well under what you paid, so do not buy and resell for fun.

Question 30

Is Lagos Life safe and legit?

Accepted Answer

The game itself is a legitimate browser game; you do not need to give a phone number, and email is optional at sign-up. The risks come from other players: chat scams (“send me ₦20k, I’ll send you ₦100k”), fake APKs and coin sellers. Never share your password and never send real money to anyone you met in the game. More in staying safe.

Question 31

Is hacking an ATM worth it in Lagos Life?

Accepted Answer

It needs Coding 6 and pays ₦1,000,000–₦5,000,000, but you get caught 70% of the time. Getting caught means a ₦20,000,000 fine (or cell time), a police record, and a higher chance that EFCC looks at your money later. Most players who rely on it end up poorer.

Question 32

How do I get out of jail in Lagos Life?

Accepted Answer

When arrested you choose: pay the fine and walk out, sit in the cell (bail ranges from ₦2,000 to ₦1,000,000 and friends can pay it for you), or call a lawyer and fight it at the Lagos High Court. Win and you walk free; lose and you serve half the time. The Good Lawyer perk cuts sentences by 25%. Full rules in crime and law.

Question 33

Why did EFCC come after me?

Accepted Answer

EFCC opens a file when your money jumps suddenly (unexplained wealth), when you send or move big sums straight through your account, when a lifestyle audit flags heavy spending, or when you already have a police record. A lawyer can settle a case for a cut. Keep your growth explainable: jobs, businesses and land.

Question 34

What happened to the players who got trillions of naira?

Accepted Answer

During launch week some accounts received absurd sums (trillions of naira) through an exploit and mass transfers. The developer rolled much of it back, and many of those players reported EFCC cases, frozen assets or lost property afterwards. Money that arrives from nowhere is the fastest way to attract the in-game EFCC.

Question 35

Can you date, marry and have kids in Lagos Life?

Accepted Answer

Yes, with real players. Build the relationship through gist, jokes and dates, ask them to be your Bae, propose with a ₦150,000 ring, then throw a wedding from an intimate ₦300,000 ceremony up to a full owambe. Couples can have up to three children. See relationships and family.

Question 36

Are there pets in Lagos Life?

Accepted Answer

Yes: a cat (₦15,000), a dog (₦25,000) and a parrot (₦45,000), bought from the Pets tab in Buy mode. You can play with them, feed them for ₦500, walk the dog around the street, and teach the parrot Pidgin, which also nudges your Charisma.

Question 37

Can you gamble in Lagos Life?

Accepted Answer

Yes. Eko Casino has slots, blackjack, video poker and a hold’em table; there is also LagosBet for football slips and the Oga Sunday Viewing Centre. The slots are tuned to pay back less than you put in over time, so treat it as entertainment, not income. See casino and mini-games.

Question 38

What mini-games can you play with other players?

Accepted Answer

Sit at a game table to play 8-Ball Pool, Ayo Olopon (the Yoruba seed game), Whot!, Ludo, chess and more against real players, with or without naira on the line. The house takes a 5% rake on staked games.

Question 39

How do I become an interior decorator or get hired by other players?

Accepted Answer

Other players can hire you through the Hustle app or from the “…” menu in a chat: decorator, cook, DJ, driver, bodyguard, photographer or tutor. You set a fee and a time. Decorators build a portfolio by decorating their own home first and sharing it in Lagos Gist. See the home decor guide.
