Getting Around in Lagos Life: Trek, Keke, Danfo, Okada, Cars and Flights

What each way of travelling costs and how fast it is, when buying a car makes sense, and how to get to Abuja and Port Harcourt by bus, plane or private jet.
3 min read

Lagos Life simulates Lagos traffic, which means getting around costs time and money. Choosing well saves both, and early on it matters more than you would think.

The six ways to move in a city

Open the map (M), tap a place and pick how you go:

RideFlag fallPer kmMinutes per kmNote
🚢 TrekFreeβ€”12Free, but slow, and long walks tire you out.
πŸ›Ί Keke₦100₦53.4Three people on the back bench.
🚐 Danfo₦100₦53"Enter with your change!"
🏍️ Okada₦150₦82Fast. Hold on tight.
πŸš• Cab₦300₦152.3AC and comfort.
πŸš™ Your carFree₦62.1Daddy's Prado. You only pay for fuel.

What these numbers mean:

  • Flag fall is charged once per trip; per km is added on top.
  • Minutes per km is the base travel time. Traffic sensitivity is not shown here, but okada handles go-slow far better (35% of normal traffic delay) than a cab or danfo (100%). Keke sits in between.
  • Trekking is free but takes four to six times as long, and long walks drain Energy.

Our default: danfo or keke for anything across town, okada when you are late for a shift, trek only for short hops (Yaba to CcHub, UNILAG to Yaba).

Area boys sometimes stop you on the road and ask for "settlement". Paying is the quick way through.

Owning a vehicle

Polanco Motors on Victoria Island sells 26 vehicles, from a ₦350,000 Bajaj Boxer to a ₦12 billion Bugatti:

VehicleNicknamePriceFuel per km
🏍️ Bajaj Boxerβ€œYour own okada”₦350k₦3
πŸš— Toyota Corolla 2008β€œTokunbo Baby Boy”₦900k₦6
🚘 Honda Accordβ€œEvil Spirit”₦1.8M₦7
πŸš™ Toyota Camryβ€œMuscle”₦3M₦7
🚐 Toyota Siennaβ€œFamily Bus”₦5.5M₦8
πŸš™ Lexus RX 350β€œBig Boy Jeep”₦7.5M₦9
🚘 BMW 330iβ€œCorporate Baller”₦9.5M₦9
πŸš™ Toyota Pradoβ€œDaddy's Prado”₦15M₦10
πŸ›» Toyota Hiluxβ€œOga's Pickup”₦20M₦11
πŸš™ BMW X5β€œBavarian Big Boy”₦28M₦11
πŸ–€ Mercedes G-Wagonβ€œOdogwu Box”₦45M₦12
🏎️ BMW M5β€œThird Mainland Missile”₦55M₦13

With your own vehicle you pay no fare, only fuel per km. A car also lets you skip the wait for a ride. But the price is the problem: a Corolla at ₦900,000 needs thousands of kilometres before it beats danfo fares, and that is ₦900,000 that could be a POS Stand making ₦5,000 a day. Buy vehicles for comfort and flex once your businesses are running. A driver from the Staff app (₦40,000 a week) takes the wheel, pays the fuel and gets you there quicker.

Going to Abuja and Port Harcourt

Each city is its own map with homes, jobs and venues. Three ways to travel between them:

RouteNight busEconomy flightPremiumBusinessFirst
Lagos ⇄ Abuja₦22,000₦150,000₦270,000₦600,000₦1,350,000
Lagos ⇄ Port Harcourt₦20,000₦120,000₦216,000₦480,000₦1,080,000
Abuja ⇄ Port Harcourt₦21,000₦140,000₦252,000₦560,000₦1,260,000
  • Night bus from Jibowu Motor Park (Lagos), Jabi Motor Park (Abuja) or Waterlines (Port Harcourt). Cheapest, but the overnight ride costs Energy and Hygiene, and you arrive tired.
  • Flights from Murtala Muhammed Airport. About an hour, with four cabins from Economy to First Class. Business and First cost four and nine times Economy but come with lounge access, proper meals and more comfort.
  • Private jet if you own one (₦1.2B–₦9B in Buy mode's Luxury tab), plus a charter fee per trip.

Players can also own intercity bus companies: buy HiAce, coach or sleeper buses, hire drivers and sell seats on the routes.

Where you live affects your travel bill

Your home's location decides how far everything is. Yaba is close to CcHub, UNILAG and Ojuelegba; Lekki is close to Elegushi Beach, The Palms and the Conservation Centre; Mushin is central on the mainland. Use the interactive map to see distances before you choose a home.
