Beyond the eight ready-made businesses in the Invest app, Lagos Life lets players found real companies: pick an industry, open units in districts across the three cities, hire staff, set prices and run marketing. Unlike Invest businesses, these respond to your decisions, and they show up on the Forbes list of richest companies.
Industries
| Industry | Setup from | Average ticket | Margin | Staff wage |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| π² Food spot | β¦150k | β¦2,500 | 35% | β¦16,000 |
| ππΎββοΈ Salon & barbing | β¦400k | β¦6,000 | 55% | β¦38,500 |
| π Provisions shop | β¦800k | β¦4,000 | 20% | β¦35,000 |
| π Fashion store | β¦1.5M | β¦25,000 | 45% | β¦53,000 |
| π Pharmacy | β¦3M | β¦12,000 | 30% | β¦120,000 |
| π Events & owambe | β¦2M | β¦400,000 | 40% | β¦47,000 |
| π΅ Dispatch & logistics | β¦5M | β¦3,000 | 25% | β¦78,000 |
| π» Tech startup | β¦10M | β | 100% | β¦187,000 |
Most industries are walk-in: customers come to your unit every evening and buy at your price. Events & owambe works on jobs instead (big tickets, fewer customers). Tech startups have no walk-in customers at all; their income swings month to month:
| Month | Chance | Income factor |
|---|---|---|
| π₯Ά Dry month | 30% | Γ0.15 |
| π Normal month | 45% | Γ0.9 |
| π₯ Hot month | 20% | Γ2.2 |
| π Viral month | 5% | Γ5 |
Units
Each company runs one or more units. Bigger units bring more customers and staff slots but cost more rent:
| Unit size | Customers | Rent | Staff slots | Daily cap |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| π Kiosk | Γ1 | Γ1 | 1 | β¦250k |
| πͺ Shop | Γ3 | Γ2.2 | 2 | β¦1.5M |
| π¬ Plaza | Γ8 | Γ5 | 5 | β¦8M |
Districts
Where you open matters. District tiers change rent, footfall, how much customers spend and what staff expect:
| Tier | Rent | Customers | Ticket | Wages | Districts |
|---|---|---|---|---|---|
| β¦ | Γ0.6 | Γ0.8 | Γ0.8 | Γ0.8 | Ikorodu, Ajah, Mushin, Nyanya, Kubwa, Gwagwalada, Rumuokoro, Choba, Diobu |
| β¦β¦ | Γ1 | Γ1 | Γ1 | Γ1 | Yaba, Surulere, Ikeja, Lagos Island, Garki, Wuse, Jabi, GRA Phase 1, D-Line, Old Township |
| β¦β¦β¦ | Γ1.8 | Γ1.2 | Γ1.4 | Γ1.2 | Lekki, Wuse 2, Central Area, Guzape, Trans-Amadi, New GRA |
| β¦β¦β¦β¦ | Γ3 | Γ1.3 | Γ2 | Γ1.5 | Victoria Island, Ikoyi, Banana Island, Maitama, Asokoro, Old GRA |
A kiosk in Mushin is cheap and modest; a plaza in Victoria Island is expensive and busy. Weekly economy news hits company industries the same way it hits Invest businesses.
Pricing
Every unit picks a price level:
| Price | Customers | Ticket |
|---|---|---|
| π·οΈ Cheap | Γ1.25 | Γ0.8 |
| βοΈ Fair | Γ1.0 | Γ1.0 |
| π Premium | Γ0.75 | Γ1.35 (needs a 3β rating) |
Ratings come from how well your units run. Premium only unlocks once customers rate you 3 stars or more.
Marketing
Short campaigns bring extra customers for a few nights:
| Campaign | Cost | Customer boost | Lasts |
|---|---|---|---|
| π Flyers | 0.5% of setup, min β¦2,000 | +20% | 1 night |
| π» Radio jingle | 2% of setup, min β¦10,000 | +35% | 2 nights |
| π€³πΎ Influencer push | 5% of setup, min β¦50,000 | +60% | 3 nights |
Staff and managers
Each unit has a team size range; wages scale with the district. Hiring a manager costs more but keeps the unit running smoothly while you are away. NEPA-proof units (with power backup) avoid bad nights during outages.
Selling up
Companies and units can be sold back for 60% of what you put in. Like Invest businesses, they are long-term plays, so pick industries you understand: a cook with a Food spot in a busy district, a stylist with a Salon & barbing unit.
Numbers come from the live game build and may change after updates.
